RBMR Video Request

Why I need the video

The relay was a spectacular success, raising vast sums of money for charity and most importantly, remembering the life and achievements of the 2001 World Rally Champion, Richard Burns. I will look back on the day and be proud that I took part and feel I can offer my growing talent at editing videos to capture the event for all people to look back on.

I have made a few 'Midland Scooby meet' videos this year which have been very popular (see the 'Camcorder Vids' section), the April meet being my favourite so far. I intend to make a video using as many different camera angles and parts of the relay as possible, that's where you come in, I was driving my RB5 on the day, hence I was limited to what I could film. This has to be the biggest video challenge I have been set and one which I want to stand out from all others. Once finished, the video will be available to download off this website and if there is a demand I will put it on DVD to raise further funds for charity. I want to reassure people as to the authenticity of this plea, IF any profits are made from this, they will go to charity. I have some webspace and materials suitable for sending out the DVDs which I will kindly donate to the cause.

What I need

I need the highest quality video format to work with. This ideally means, capturing the video in 'DV' format (.avi) which unfortunately does take up a lot of disc space. Failing that any mpeg, variations could be used but the resolution needs to be in DVD PAL format. (720 x 576, 25 fps).

I am not asking for any originals or Tapes. I am looking for people to post their video to me but due to the number of responses I will not be able to return any discs, therefore please do not send me your last copy!. Ideally the video should be sent on a DVD disc or if this is not possible a CD instead. I am not looking to purchase any footage, I am asking for people to come forward and donate their little bit to a good cause.

With regard to camera phones and digital cameras that record video, I am not sure on the video size that these devices capture at but I think they will not be DVD resolution/quality.

How can I help you

Please drop me an email and let me know which part of the relay you took part in, which main Forum you post in and your username. That will aid me in creating the credits, where I hope to list all those who contributed. I'm hoping it's a big list!

Should your video be used I will make sure you get a suitable reduction on the DVD for you efforts.

If I have not covered something or you have any questions, drop me an email, I'd love to hear from you.

Many Thanks,

MarkP
